Learn to surf at Cayton Bay

Cayton Bay is the best-known surf beach on this stretch of coast, and Scarborough Surf School works from the cliff top above it. It runs group and private lessons, kids' clubs, paddleboarding and board and wetsuit hire, with the kit included in lessons. Everyone needs to be able to swim 25 metres, and under-12s come with a parent or guardian. It opens every day in the summer and at weekends the rest of the year, so it's worth booking ahead.
