If you are looking for a Scarborough hot tub cottage that feels a world away from the busy seafront, Castle Sunset on the Beach is the place. It is a clifftop beach house above Cayton Bay, with sea views along the coast to Scarborough Castle, and a private hot tub tucked into its own enclosed garden. After a day on the sand or a blustery clifftop walk, there is nothing better than sinking into warm water while the sky turns orange over the bay.
Your own private hot tub
The hot tub is for your group only. It is not shared with other cottages or a holiday park, and it sits inside the enclosed garden, so you can relax without an audience. The garden also has an outdoor dining area, which makes it easy to turn an evening soak into a long, lazy supper outdoors, with drinks in hand and the children close by.

Castle Sunset is known for its sunsets, and the hot tub is a front-row seat. Plan your evening around it: a swim or a surf in the afternoon, a hot shower, then into the tub as the light softens. In winter, it is just as good. Wrapping up for a cold beach walk feels very different when you know a hot tub and a fireplace are waiting for you back at the house.
More than a hot tub
The hot tub is only part of it. Castle Sunset sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms, with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 2 bathrooms. The open-plan living and dining space has floor-to-ceiling glass, so the sea view follows you from the sofa to the dinner table. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace for cosy nights in, and a games room with pool and darts for when the weather turns.

Practical things are covered too: free parking, fast Wi-Fi, a washing machine for sandy towels and wet wetsuits, plus travel cots and board games. If you are coming as a family or a group of friends, our family holiday house guide explains how the bedrooms and living spaces work for larger groups.
Hot tub, then the beach
From the house, a steep cliff path leads down to Cayton Bay's big sandy beach (it is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility). The beach is popular for surfing, rock pooling and long family walks, and at low tide there is space for everyone. Spend the morning exploring the rock pools, come back up for lunch, and save the hot tub for the evening. Our Cayton Bay area guide has more ideas for days out.
Close to Scarborough, Filey and Whitby
Cayton Bay sits between Scarborough and Filey, so you are never far from fish and chips, the harbour or a museum on a rainy day. Scarborough and Filey are both about 10 minutes by car, Bridlington is about half an hour, and Whitby is about 45 minutes. There is also a bus to Scarborough and Filey from the top of the street, so you can leave the car at the house. For attractions, see our things to do page, including Scarborough Castle, the same castle you can see from the house.
